Uta Sailer

Professor, Faculty of Medicine

Uta Sailer received her Diploma in Psychology at the University of Munich, and her Ph.D. from the Dept. of Neurology, University of Munich. She then joined the lab of Roland Johansson, Department of Integrative Medical Biology, University of Umea, Sweden, working on eye-hand-coordination. Subsequently, she was a researcher at the Biological Psychology Unit (now: Social, Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Unit), University Vienna, Austria, where she used EEG/ERP and fMRI to investigate the processing of feedback and monetary rewards in healthy humans and patients with PTSD. She then worked at the Dept. of Psychology, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, as a lecturer and professor, and is since 2016 professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, Norway.

Her research investigates behaviour in response to different kinds of rewards using a multi-level approach combining experimental psychology with neuroimaging, psychophysiology, peripheral physiology, and recently also psychopharmacology.
